In the summer of 1962, the vehicle carried two Madrid University students, Santiago Guillen and Antonio Veciana, on a tour of Europe. In the words of one journalist, Salvador Dalì "true to his reputation, decided to decorate the Vespa in bizarre fashion, adding his signature and the name of his partner and muse Gala".
