Mecalac is one of the world’s most innovative building machinery manufacturers in the field of mobile earth-moving equipment and the market leader for compact mobile excavators in France. Ahlmann is the only manufacturer worldwide to produce all designs of wheel loader, including articulated, all-wheel and swing loaders. With its all-wheel-drive swing loaders, the company holds the top position among European wheel loader specialists. The products produced in Büdelsdorf (Germany), which have so far been sold under the Ahlmann brand, will carry the Mecalac name in the future.

By concentrating on one strong brand, Groupe Mecalac is adopting a stronger international orientation. The Mecalac brand stands for process-oriented compact construction machines that meet the highest demands in terms of quality, multifunctionality and design.

As a result of this decision, the name of Ahlmann Baumaschinen GmbH, based in Büdelsdorf (Germany), will be changing to Mecalac Baumaschinen GmbH as of 1 January 2012. This also underlines the fact that wheel loaders are a part of the group’s strategic core business.

For both trade and end customers, uniting the two brands under the Mecalac name will result in increased responsibilities in the areas of service and support.

For this reason, support for French trading partners for all of the company’s products will be concentrated in Annecy in the future. Mecalac s.a.s. is also changing its name and will be known as Mecalac France s.a.s. The company will be the point-of-contact in France for not only its own range of mobile excavators but also the entire wheel loader product palette.

The name of Framateq IDF, the direct distribution company for the Paris region, will be changed to Mecalac IDF at the beginning of the new year.

“These actions are a part of our growth strategy, which are also supported by the employees of the subsidiaries affected by the name change and the brand merger, which We are very pleased about. Our new, highly process-oriented product range will help strengthen the Mecalac brand and further support its internationalisation”, comment Henri Marchetta Président and Dr Georg Sick CEO of the Groupe Mecalac, on the changes.
