Norfolk-based manufacturer PMC has introduced its new 1089 pea and broad bean harvester.

The new machine features a Stage IIIB liquid-cooled 12.7-litre, Scania diesel engine that develops 444hp.

It also has an improved picking head; the option of wheels or tracks; a larger-capacity hopper and revised threshing system. All designed to give outstanding performance and reliability and increased throughput.

The drive-axle options on the 1089 are either 710/60R30 tyres or Claas TerraTrac tracks. Both options are backed up by driven 710/50R26.5 tyres on the rear axle.

The harvester’s high-capacity hopper has a volume of 3.4 cubic metres that will hold about 2,275kg of peas.

Driver comfort is ensured by the use of Claas’ Vista cab where the operator is able to use PMC’s next generation Harvest Vision System controls.

The PMC 1089 is 12m long and 3.5 of 4.0m wide depensing on the header fitted. It weighs 29.2t in its heavier tracked version.
