Herve Poulain BMW M1 Art Car by Andy Warhol (E26) '1979 designed by Italdesign
Марафон 24 часа Ле-Мана 1979 года состоялся в выходные дни 9 и 10 июня. Руководители гонки приняли M1 в категорию IMSA GTX. За рулем был Эрве Пулен (который начал программу Art Car еще в 1975 году и участвовал в гонках 1975 и 77 годов), помимо Марселя Миньо и Манфреда Винкельхока.
По итогу квалификации M1 занял 23-е место и был быстрее, чем все Ferrari 512 BB LM и многие Porsche 935 с двойным турбонаддувом. В самой гонке автомобиль занял шестое место в общем зачете и второе место в категории IMSA GTX.
