LEXUS TURNS UP THE HEAT ON HOT-SELLING IS200

Lexus has turned up the heat with the release of 100 hot yellow special edition IS200 sports sedans.

The special edition IS200 YELLOW features a long list of enhancements worth over $8,000.

They include special edition 17-inch chrome alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, carbon fibre steering wheel with yellow inserts, electric moonroof, drilled sports pedals and an individually numbered interior badge.

The special edition yellow exterior colour is otherwise unavailable in the Australian Lexus range.

The front-engine/rear drive combination of the IS200 provides excellent handling, coupled with strong performance from the VVTi two-litre straight six engine.

The IS200 engine performance is achieved through the incorporation of specially developed Lexus features such as the acoustic variable-length induction system (ACIS) which maximises low end torque yet provides top end power.

An electronic intelligent throttle control, direct ignition and intelligent variable valve timing (VVTi) helps deliver 80 percent of the engine's peak torque at just 1500rpm, while maximising fuel economy and restricting emissions.

The vehicle's benchmark Lexus passive safety package includes a strong safety cell, collision-absorbing structures front and rear, a side collision impact-absorbing structure, electronically-controlled dual airbag SRS.

The IS200 also has force-limiting front seatbelt pretensioners, seat-mounted side airbags, four-way collapsible energy absorbing steering column, three rear-seat lap-sash ELR type seatbelts and three rear-seat head restraints.

The IS200 YELLOW boasts the hallmark Lexus features of optimum comfort, high specification levels as standard equipment, low NVH and the Lexus Encore programme.

Only 100 IS200 YELLOWs will be made.

The hot special edition IS200 YELLOW has a recommended retail price (including GST) of $54,766 for the manual model, and $57,046 for the automatic transmission version.
