Компанию основал Giovanbattista Moscardini в 1964 году. В том же году был выпущен первый жилой прицеп компании – Laika 500. Своё название он (а также компания) получили в честь породы первой собаки, побывавшей в космосе, индекс 500 был присвоен в честь Fiat 500, на котором основатель компании буксировал этот прицеп. Позже были выпущены жилые прицепы Laika 1000, Laika 600, Laika 1100, Laika Yo-Yo. В 1977 году был выпущен первый дом на колёсах – Laika Motorpolo.
