Liebherr-France SAS has been producing crawler excavators here since 1961 for many different applications such as in demolition, digging tunnels, and slope construction. Due to fast growth and expansion of the product portfolio, a special company for mining excavators was separated out in 2011. Since then, Liebherr-France SAS has been manufacturing crawler excavators and specialized machines for demolition and earthmoving, the steel industry and industrial handling, as well as for civil engineering and tunnel construction.

In Colmar, Liebherr-France SAS manufactures nine different models of hydraulic excavators on crawler-track travel gear as well as 23 versions of different special equipment.
