Magna Steyr in Graz

Wheels&Tracks

Currently the plant in Graz is manufacturing the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the new BMW 5 Series model, the BMW Z4, as well as the E-PACE and I-PACE model for Jaguar Land Rover.

The legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class was first manufactured in Graz in 1979. To date, more than 330,000 units have rolled off the assembly line. With the new G-Class, which was unveiled to the world on January 14, 2018 in Detroit, we continue our tradition of world-class manufacturing.

Since March 1, 2017 the new BMW 5 Series is one further vehicle to be produced in Graz for the BMW Group. Only a few weeks after the series launch of the petrol and diesel version of the new BMW 5 Series, production of the new plug-in hybrid variant started in July 2017.

The first series-produced new BMW Z4 rolled off the assembly line in our Graz plant on November 2, 2018. Continuing many years of successful partnership, the BMW Z4 is already the fifth vehicle we are manufacturing for our customer BMW Group. The new model shares the same production line with the BMW 5 Series, both in body-in-white and in assembly.

The new Jaguar E-PACE is not just a completely new vehicle generation, but also the first vehicle model we at Magna Steyr are producing for our new customer Jaguar Land Rover since September 25, 2017.

On March 1, the Jaguar I-PACE was unveiled at Magna Steyr in Graz. The I-PACE, the first fully electrically powered vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover, is the newest member of the “PACE” family and is built on the same production line as the E-PACE at the Graz plant.

The new sports car, manufactured at Magna Steyr in Graz since March 1, 2019, celebrated its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
