Предшественник компании, ранее известный как 7319-й завод Народно-освободительной армии Китая, был основан в июне 1950 года. В октябре 1996 года, с одобрения Главного управления материально-технического обеспечения, вся заводская система была реформирована. В период 2009 - 2013 годов Changfeng сотрудничал с Китайской автопромышленной группой GAC.
