В прошлом Кен работал в компаниях Honda, GM, Porsche, Pininfarina, разработав дизайн таких культовых автомобилей как Honda NSX, Porsche 911 (996), Chevrolet Corevette (C5), Enzo Ferrari, Maserati Quattroporte. Однако в 2006 году он покинул мир "большого" автодизайна и основал собственную студию Ken Okuyama Design, которая специализируется на промышленном дизайне.
