Warrington’s Own Buses has launched 13 high-specification ADL Enviro200 for its South Warrington services, radically transformed into the Cheshire Cat. The new single deck buses were launched with an Alice in Wonderland-themed Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Golden Square, in the town centre.

The new Enviro200 buses have Best Impressions designer interiors with comfortable high-backed seats featuring couture-inspired houndstooth pattern moquette. Other features include increased legroom, wood-effect floor and sunroof windows. Passengers are able to pay their fare cash, contactless or through Apple and Google Pay, and enjoy free wifi and USB charging as well as next stop announcements. Spacious wheelchair and buggy bays at the front of the bus ensure there is ample room for everyone on board. There is also a sofa at the back of the bus!

The 11.5m long Enviro200, which are the operator’s first brand new buses in five years, are powered by low emission Euro 6 engines with ADL’s innovative SmartPack efficient diesel technology, which improves fuel efficiency by only charging alternator and compressor when the engine is in coast.
