Автомобиль 1969 модельного года (выпущен 8 октября 1968 года) ввезён в США как обычный чёрный седан с салоном из кожзаменителя и двигателем 1500 кубических сантиметров. После чего отправлен в Калифорнию в кузовную компанию Troutman-Barnes из Калвер-Сити. Лимузин был заказан известным дистрибьютором Porsche/Volkswagen на Западном побережье и гонщиком-любителем Джоном фон Нейманом.
