Двигатель BMW P66/1 был модернизированной версией двигателя P66 для соответствия правилам DTM 2017 года. Ограничитель впускного воздуха был немного увеличен с 28 до 29 мм (от 1,10 до 1,14 дюйма), а также увеличена мощность с 480 до 500 л.с.

BMW P66/1 стал последним безнаддувным двигателем BMW V8 для DTM.
