Overland

Компания была основана Клодом Коксом (Claude Cox), выпускником Политехнического института Роуза (Rose Polytechnic Institute). В 1903 г. Кокс был нанят компанией Standard Motor Company Limited из Тер Ут, штата Индиана (Terre Haute, Indiana). В 1905 г. Standard Motor Company Limited разрешила Коксу создать Overland Automobile Company в Индианаполисе, штата Индиана (Indianapolis, Indiana) , и он стал партнёром. В 1908 г. Overland Motors был куплен Джоном Виллисом (John North Willys), а в 1912 г. переименован в Willys-Overland. Имя Overland вернётся, когда автомобильный концерн DaimlerChrysler AG выпустит комплектацию Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Значок - это воссоздание титульной таблички Overland с начала двадцатого века.
