Inspired by the 1969 mission to land on the moon, Brian Talbot and Ken Wilcock named their new caravan manufacturing business Lunar.

Since 2019 Lunar Automotive (before 2019 - Lunar Caravans) is part of MEWA, a South African specialist engineering group. MEWA was founded by Cecil Marks and has a strong pioneering heritage in the stainless-steel industry.
