Название компании HRD берет от инициалов основателя, Говарда Рэймонда Дэвиса (Howard Raymond Davies). В 1928 году компанию и заводы приобрела OK-Supreme, которая, в свою очередь, продала права на марку Филу Винсенту (Philip Conrad Vincent) для основания компании "The Vincent HRD Company Ltd."
