Автомобиль-фургон ГЗТМ-954 был выпущен опытной партией в 1963 году и являлся попыткой завода продлить жизнь аналогичной модели на шасси ГАЗ-52A. Внешне фургон отличался лишь сдвинутыми назад колесными нишами из-за более длинной колесной базы.
