В начале 1990-х годов голландская армия заказала новый тяжёлый эвакуатор для замены моделей DAF YB616/626.

Машина оснащена подъёмным краном с гидравлическим приводом, разработанным в Норвегии компанией Alvis Moelv (ранее Hägglunds Moelv). В оборудование входит три тросовых лебедки Rotzler.
