Impact was the automotive branch of nbs co., Ltd., a Japanese electrics manufacturing company who was looking to expand into vehicle manufacturing somewhere around 2007. Abflug was contracted to design a "complete car" based on contemporary JDM models for nbs's then upcoming automotive manufacturing operations. The ZIONE, based on the Z33 Nissan Fairlady Z / 350Z, was the result of this collaboration.
