Placed on the market simultaneously with the Crown Model RS, the Toyopet Master was a completely restyled and improved edition of the Toyopet Super Model RH featuring a revamped chassis. Although its performance was virtually the same as that of the Crown, the Master was mainly aimed at the taxi market. For this reason, a front rigid axle suspension system was adopted to enhance the durability and to secure a larger passenger space. Production of the Master was discontinued in November 1956, as the Crown Model RS became qualified for use as a taxi. In its stead, a commercial-use vehicle based on the Master was placed on the market as the Masterline.
