Toyopet Super Model RHN (1953)

The Toyopet Super was announced in 1953, the year when the maximum engine displacement for the small car category was raised from 1,000 cc to 1,500 cc. Featuring an engine that is 20 hp more powerful than the preceding 1,000 cc Type S engine, the Toyopet Super was mainly used as a taxi, becoming Toyota’s flagship model. The vehicle displayed here is the Model RHN, featuring a body built by Shin Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. Its twin model, the RHK, carried a body made by Kanto Auto Works, Ltd.
