Gothenburg, January 26, 2010 – Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen won the legendary Monte Carlo Rally this weekend in the new M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000.

Ford’s official FIA World Rally Championship drivers endured difficult winter conditions in the south of France before crossing the finish line in Monaco’s famous harbour with a lead of 1 minute and 51.4 seconds.

The Fiesta S2000 was developed by Ford’s rally partner M-Sport, and the five-day Monte Carlo Rally offered a tough debut. The car did not lose a single stage during the 405-kilometre event, making it a dream start to the 2010 rally season for Hirvonen and Lehtinen.
