Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, January 18th, 2012 – Terex Cranes has established a new performance record with a customized, high-capacity version of its reputed Terex® TFC 46M HC Reach Stacker, with two units recently delivered to MultiRio Operaçoes Portuarias S.A., one of Brazil’s leading port handling operators.

Produced at the Terex Cranes facility in Montceau-les-Mines, France, and delivered via its distributor Equiport in September, the two Terex® TFC46MS HC units were specially adapted to suit the needs of a specialized cargo-handling contract awarded to MultiRio earlier this year for operation in the Port of Rio de Janeiro, Terminal II.

Based on the standard TFC 46M reach stacker operated by hundreds of leading container logistics and port handling operators worldwide, the customer-tailored Terex® TFC 46MS HC is built with a 6.5-meter wheelbase and fitted with standard 18.00-25 tires. Gross unit weight is 75 tonnes with standard top-pick spreader or 69 tonnes with a 60-tonne capacity hook block. Both comfortable and user-friendly to operate, an integrated IC control system/monitoring system with dashboard MD3 display panel enables virtually any load to be handled accurately, smoothly and safely.

Designed to match today’s most challenging port terminal environments, the Terex® TFC 46M reach stacker offers 45-tonne - 1st row (50 US tons), 33-tonne – 2nd row (36 US tons) and 18-tonne – 3rd row (20 US tons) maximum lifting capacity for full, bulk and high-cube containers up to 6-high on the first row, and 6-high ISO-Dry containers on the second row, and is available in standard and dedicated multi-attachment versions.
