Артиллерийский автомобиль-генератор М16 с бензиновым двигателем мощностью 150 л.с. работал как передвижная электростанция для прицепа-вездехода с восемью мотор-колесами, причем на каждые две оси имелись две поворотные тележки. Грузоподъемность активного прицепа составляла 27 т.
