SOUTH African heavy equipment manufacturers Bell Equipment have appointed Wajax Equipment as their distributor and dealer of Bell articulated dumptrucks (ADTs) in Canada with immediate effect – the first major step in the company’s plans to relaunch the brand in the Americas after 12 years of providing product under another brand.

Wajax Equipment are one of the leading heavy equipment distributors in Canada, with over 32 locations across the country and Hitachi heavy construction and mining equipment being their core business.

In accordance with marketing agreements already in place, Wajax will initially distribute the 35 to 50-tonne range until 1 January 2014, whereafter the complete range of Bell ADTs will be offered.

The Canadian market will be supplied with trucks from Bell’s German assembly plant, where production will increase next year to offer greater flexibility to accommodate the Canadian opportunities.

Wajax estimate the annual size of the Canadian market to be at least 500 units, worth around C$225 million.
