Der dritte von der BMW Motorsport gemeldete BMW 3.0 CSL - gefahren von Dieter Quester, Albrecht Krebs und Alain Peltier - musste kurz nach Mitternacht die Waffen strecken. Mit zerbröseltem Differential musste Albrecht Krebs den Wagen auf freier Strecke abstellen. Hier sieht man den Wagen vor dem Start vor den Boxen aufgestellt. Rechts die weiteren Werkswagen Nr. 42 von Grohs/Posey/de Fierlant und Nr. 41"Stella" von Gregg/Redman.
