В апреле 1971 года BMW 3.0 CS с 3-литровым двигателем заменил модель 2800 CS. Помимо увеличения мощности двигателя на 10 л.с., новая модель предлагала заказчику дисковые тормоза на все четыре колеса. Эта модель оставалась в производстве до конца этого поколения купе BMW в 1975 году.

Произведено - 11.063 единицы.
