Fendt Katana 85 with MTU Series 1600

The new Katana 85 forage harvester from Fendt is powered by a 12-cylinder MTU Series 1600 engine. This larger version of the successful Katana 65 can call on 625 kW of power and uses high-pressure common rail injection, two-stage turbocharging and cooled exhaust gas recycling to achieve compliance with EPA Tier 4 final emissions specifications. Its innovative drive concept allows the Katana 85 to adapt engine speed to suit grass or maize processing in order to ensure economical, fuel-saving operation. The new forage harvester also has a modern-design engine hood, a synthetic AdBlue tank and a new ejector chute.
