Caterpillar added six machines to the company’s D Series product line, launching three new compact track loaders and three new multi terrain loaders as replacements for B3, C and C2 Series models. Cat also updated two compact track loader models.

Ranging in rated operating capacity from 2,800 pounds to 4,650 pounds at 50 percent of tipping load, the rubber-track loaders include the mid-size models 257D multi terrain loader and 259D compact track loader, the larger frame 277D and 287D multi terrain loaders and the 279D and 289D compact track loaders.

Meanwhile, Cat updated the existing 299D and 299D XHP, the two largest of the D Series compact track loaders. Both machines feature a 3.8-liter engine that delivers 98 gross horsepower. Available since 2012, the 299D and 299D XHP feature Cat’s completely new cab and a new lift arm design.

The new Cab-One operator station, a sealed and pressurized cab design found on all eight machines, offers one-piece modular construction instead of a standard two-piece design.
