Одна из многочисленных попыток представить приемлемую альтернативу Mk I была предпринята на коммерческом автосалоне 1964 года (Commercial Motor Show). Автомобиль назвали Guardsman и он появился в ливрее Bulwark. Кабина имела деревянно-металлическую конструкцию с пластиковыми панелями, а шасси было оснащено дизельным двигателем Cummins V8 мощностью 235 л. с. Atkinson с кабиной Guardsman был очень редкой моделью.
