22 февраля 1953 года состоялся показ прототипа [b]Kaiser-Darrin D-X100[/b], несколько машин проходило тесты до 1953 ноября. Данные по кол-ву разнятся: от 12 до 62 шт!

Некоторые проходили тесты, некоторые погибали в испытаниях. Другие участвовали в рекламе на различных фотосессиях и автошоу.

Машинку легко узнать по отсутствию габариток и лобовому стеклу из двух половинок.

... да под этим заводским фото стояла угрожающая надпись тех времен, заглавными буквами: "CONFIDENTIAL NOT FOR PUBLICATION" (ПУНКТУАЦИЯ СОХРАНЕНА -)).
