The Takeuchi 215R is part of a large program from the Japanese manufacturer to not only refresh its very popular range of mini and midi excavators but to add new models to ensure they have a solution for every type of job site. The TB215R which was recently launched at the BAUMA International Plant exhibition in Munich is all new and features a reduced rear swing radius, hence the “R” on the name badge. It also has an all new boom with the lift ram designed to work behind the boom to reduce the risk of site damage when operators are working in very restricted spaces. The extending width undercarriage, as pioneered by Takeuchi, is an essential part of the stable platform that, combined with Takeuchi’s smooth hydraulic controls, ensures that operators of all skill levels will find this new model easy to operate. The TB215R was displayed alongside established popular models which represent the wide range available and included the ubiquitous TB016, the 219 and the reduced swing TB23R. The TB219 and TB23R (both models are gaining in popularity as they are ideal for the road tow 3500 kg limit), a TB228 and the TB153FR representing Takeuchi’s reduced (front and rear) swing radius range completed the display.
