Aimed at the landscaping, utility and rental markets as well as construction industry, the new E45 and E50 mini-excavators from Bobcat boast fast work cycles with smooth and precise work group functions, comfortable work station, reduced noise and increased reliability.

The excavators are based on the same platform, with an undercarriage width of 1.96m. Equipped with cab and bucket, the E45 has an operating weight of 4,634kg and 3.30m maximum digging depth. The E50, also with cab and bucket, has an operating weight of 4,905kg and 3.52m maximum digging depth. Long-arm versions provide maximum depths of 3.6m and 3.92m respectively.

The units are powered by Kubota engines delivering 30.2kW and 35.4kW outputs. There is a standard "auto idle" feature on both models to reduce fuel consumption and noise.

The undercarriage on both features sealed, maintenance-free track rollers, a top roller and wide sprockets. The open design and sloped surfaces of the x-frame are intended to help prevent the build up of mud and debris. Maximum travel speeds are 2.8kmph for the E45 and 4.2kmph for the E50.

Booms consist of a four-plate box design. Routing of hydraulic hoses and connections has been designed for easy access and to reduce the potential for leaks.

An all-new cab design provides 360 degs visibility. Heating and ventilation are fitted as standard. Air conditioning is available as an option. For operator convenience, boom offset and first and second (optional) auxiliary hydraulic controls are integrated into the joysticks.

A high hydraulic flow of 75.5 litres/min in the auxiliary line, combined with improved stability, has increased the range of attachments that can be used.
