Сочлененный автобус Ikarus 180 выпускался в Венгрии с 1966 по 1973 год, в Москве такие автобусы, вмещающие до 200 пассажиров, появились в 1968-м.

Всего было произведено 7,8 тыс. таких автобусов, однако на данный момент в мире сохранилось всего три экземпляра. Работавшие в Москве автобусы этой модели были сняты с линии перед Олимпиадой 1980 года.
