At last week's Agritechnica show in Germany, Krone wowed punters with two particularly sizeable pieces of new equipment -- the new Big M 500 mower conditioner and a sprawling six-rotor Swadro 2000 rake.

The Big M 500 boasts a total working width of 13.2m (taking overlaps between front and rear units into account).

The front mower is 5.3m wide; each of the two side-mounted units at the rear are 4.4m wide.

All mower units feature the new SafeCut cutterbar and are driven by driveshafts and gearboxes.

The front mower is split in two halves -- each folding up and sideways for transport.

The Big M 500 is powered by a 510hp engine in an axial arrangement.

Like its smaller sibling -- the Big M II -- this model features four hydrostatic wheel motors.
